c. 1910s-1920s; W.C. Heller & Co. - Montpelier, OH
Massive multi-section oak hardware cabinet produced by W.C. Heller & Co., featuring a commanding arrangement of drawers and roll-top tambour bins. The upper portion houses dozens of small drawers with galvanized steel interiors and brass pulls with integrated label frames-ideal for storing hardware or small parts. The slanted midsection incorporates deep roll-top compartments, each opening to reveal a large tin-lined basin-style drawer, while the base includes six wide drawers for bulk storage.
Constructed in quarter-sawn oak with finely detailed joinery, this cabinet embodies early 20th-century American industrial craftsmanship. Heller's designs were staples of hardware stores, factories, and workshops nationwide, built to endure decades of heavy use while maintaining a refined aesthetic.
