Vintage Chinese solid rosewood three-seat sofa with three hand-carved, pierced dragon medallions set into a key-fret lattice back, matching open fretwork arms, and cabriole legs ending in carved claw feet. Each oval medallion depicts a dragon chasing a flaming pearl through clouds, carved fully through the panel. The deep red hand-rubbed finish and the loose red silk brocade cushion, woven with a dragon motif, give it the presence of a formal Chinese reception hall piece. Use it as a living room sofa, entry bench, or a statement piece in a hallway or study; it pairs with chinoiserie, Asian, and traditional interiors.
Heavy solid rosewood frame with mortise-and-tenon joinery (no veneer); traditional key-fret pattern in the back panels and both arms; carved scrolled apron and ball-and-claw style feet. Loose seat cushion is removable for cleaning. Unbranded; made in China. A matching rosewood armchair is listed separately.
