A delicate antique Edwardian crescent brooch, finely crafted in 9ct yellow and rose-toned gold and set with alternating graduated turquoise cabochons and seed pearls.

The small crescent form is particularly elegant, with the turquoise and pearls individually set within finely worked claw settings. The stones graduate towards the centre, where the larger turquoise cabochons create a beautiful balance of colour against the warm gold.

Dating to the late 19th or early 20th century, crescent jewellery became particularly fashionable around this period, with the crescent traditionally associated with femininity, new beginnings and good fortune.

The brooch is stamped “9CT” to the reverse. The pin fitting is of a different metal, as commonly encountered on antique brooches.
Presented in a simple jewellery box.

Condition:
In lovely antique condition with no notable damage. Light age-related wear consistent with its age. Please refer to the photographs for details.
