The chair features a beautifully proportioned wooden frame with slender rounded legs and a characteristic curved upholstered backrest. The warm tone and pronounced grain of the wood contrast beautifully with the black upholstered seat and back.
Its restrained construction, light appearance and subtle sculptural details are characteristic of Braakman’s work for Pastoe and of Dutch mid-century modern design.
The chair retains its original Pastoe manufacturer’s label underneath the seat. This piece has an attribution mark,
