Antique faux bamboo mirror featuring its original foxed mirror plate and executed entirely in the Chinoiserie style—a style highly popular during the Art Nouveau period. Originating from France, dating to the first half of the 20th century.
The beautiful wooden frame has been turned and carved to resemble real bamboo—hence the term "faux bamboo"—and bears a lovely, weathered patina of age. The mirror glass shows oxidation and foxing; such characteristics are common in very old mirrors and are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts of authentic antiques.
This item is in very good antique condition, showing signs of age and use consistent with its history but nothing distracting; please refer to the photos for further details.
