The design combines clear cut crystal with rich amber-coloured overlay panels, finely wheel-cut with stylised floral, foliate and geometric motifs. The architectural form of the decanter, radiating cut decoration and amber overlay are characteristic of German and Central European decorative crystal of the period. An identical decanter has been attributed on the European market to Nachtmann and dated to circa 1900; however, as no factory mark is visible on the present example, the attribution to Nachtmann should be regarded as preliminary. The four glasses closely correspond to the decanter in colour, cutting and ornamental treatment and form a highly decorative presentation set. The clear crystal remains bright and transparent, without noticeable internal clouding. A particularly attractive example of turn-of-the-century decorative barware, combining amber overlay with elaborate hand-cut floral ornament. (The photographs form an integral part of the .)
