This one is called "Patriotic … Read more A one-of-a-kind mixed media painting by Peter Max that is part of his "Patriotic Series." This one is called "Patriotic Series: Full Liberty." These paintings were created by the artist taking serigraphs and hand-painting each one to be different than any other. You can clearly see the impasto of the paint, distinguishing them from prints. And of course, they are a lot more valuable than signed prints. This one still has the shipping label attached to the back, verifying its authenticity and the former owner. Peter Max paintings were (maybe still are?) sold in gallery shows on cruise ships, and this one apparently was purchased on a Carnival cruise on 2/08/07 and shipped to Florida. Peter Max went back to this theme over and over; he created his first portrait of the statue over 40 years ago. See less
