About the Artist
Erté (Romain de Tirtoff, 1892–1990) was one of the defining figures of the Art Deco movement. A Russian-born French artist and designer, he became internationally celebrated for his elegant fashion illustrations, theatrical costume and stage designs, sculptures, and decorative arts. His distinctive style—characterized by elongated figures, graceful movement, and lavish ornamental detail—has made his work highly sought after by collectors worldwide. During the late 20th century, authorized limited-edition bronze sculptures based on his iconic designs were produced in collaboration with Fine Arts Acquisitions, introducing his timeless Art Deco aesthetic to a new generation of collectors.
