Made by Bull … Read more A striking vintage American flag featuring the historic 13-star circular configuration associated with the original thirteen colonies. Made by Bull Dog Bunting, a trademark associated with the John C. Dettra flag company, the flag features a deep blue canton with thirteen white stars arranged in a circle, individually constructed red and white stripes, and a reinforced canvas hoist with metal grommets.

The flag has developed wonderful age and character, with softly muted colors, natural toning and scattered areas of discoloration that contribute to its authentic vintage appearance. Its relatively compact 34 by 22-inch size makes it especially appealing for display, whether framed or hung as a distinctive piece of Americana.

The 13-star configuration continued to be produced well after the 18th century for patriotic, commemorative and maritime purposes. Bull Dog Bunting was trademarked in the early 20th century, making this a later historic interpretation rather than an 18th-century flag.

A handsome piece of vintage Americana with strong decorative presence and beautifully aged red, white and blue coloration.
