The basket is handwoven in warm natural bamboo and has a low, wide form with gently rising sides.

Dimensions: height 16 cm, diameter 64 cm.

The basket has a striking large format and beautifully rhythmic weaving. The base is stronger and more openly woven in a square lattice pattern, while the sides are finer and more densely constructed. The broad rounded rim is carefully wrapped and has a beautiful graphic character through its darker accents and light traces of use.

Thanks to its low and wide form, this basket works beautifully as a decorative bowl, display basket or centerpiece on a large table, low cabinet, counter or in a retail interior. It also remains stylish and calm when filled with textiles, dried flowers, fruit, paper goods or small objects.

The warm honey-brown colour, natural material and sober Japanese design give the basket a timeless wabi-sabi presence. It fits beautifully in a Japanese, rustic, bohemian, minimalist, vintage or eclectic interior.

The basket is in beautiful vintage condition, with normal signs of age, light wear and natural colour variations consistent with its age, material and handwoven construction.

A large and atmospheric Japanese bamboo object from the 1970s, ideal as a high-end decorative interior accent with a strong artisanal presence. See less
