English Setter sculpture dating to the 1930s, in the animalier tradition. The dog is modelled in an alert sporting pose, with its nose extended, feathered tail raised and one foreleg reaching forward. The casting includes detailed curls around the ears and feathering along the legs and underside.
The figure is made from patinated spelter, a zinc alloy, with a bronze-toned finish. It is mounted on a green veined serpentine marble base. No specific sculptor is attributed to this piece.
Overall dimensions: 43 cm wide, 11 cm deep and 19 cm high. One sculpture with its marble base.
