Giulio Paolini’s Elea is an intricate assemblage featuring a plaster bust of the Greek philosopher Parmenides, placed atop a circular acrylic glass plate. The plate, measuring 47 cm in diameter, overlays a die-cut lithograph that displays a layered image of the night sky and celestial motifs, including repeated and rotated impressions of Parmenides’ face.
