A magnificent, attention-grabbing and very rare set of six sculptural tiger oak Mid Century dining chairs in really lovely condition. Made in Belgium in the 1960s, these eye-catchingly attractive and stunningly Brutalist chairs will add a superb artisan quality and a fabulous bygone rustic-lodge aesthetic to any dining room.
Reassuringly heavy and excellently proportioned, these were wonderfully crafted from superb quality and beautifully toned solid tiger oak wood, showing lovely grain patterning and golden striations.
Hand carved and expertly crafted using traditional mortise and tenon joinery, the workmanship is first-rate and these are as solid and sturdy as the day they were made.
Showing skilfully carved detailing throughout, they have wrap-around wave-carved backs with hand-holes and curvaceous saddle-sculpted seats. Supported by attractive and shapely legs with matching H-stretchers, these are a stunningly impressive and robust set of dining chairs.
All in all, this is a fabulous and rare set of dining chairs. Beautifully crafted, comfortable, generously sized and with a timeless rustic-lodge appeal, they won’t fail to impress in any setting.
