He was a co-founder of the Vienna Secession, an association of young artists who, around the turn of the century, opposed the conservative artistic views of the Vienna Künstlerhaus and the established art institutions. Besides Hoffmann, Gustav Klimt and Koloman Moser were also members of the Vienna Secession. Together with Koloman Moser, Hoffmann founded the Wiener Werkstätte, a production and distribution company for applied arts, in 1903. Hoffmann's set of four nesting tables, created in 1905, was an excellent example of this style. The characteristic design language, featuring squares, grids, and geometric elements, emerged from this new Viennese style. Our nesting tables come from the traditional Viennese company Wittmann and were manufactured in the 1970s. The frames are made of solid oak, and the tabletops are oak veneer. A professional restorer has carefully refurbished each table. Veneer damage and other imperfections have been repaired, and everything has been freshly lacquered. The set is therefore in perfect condition, without any visible signs of wear. The tallest piece is the table, which is 70cm high. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
