Pair of Large Herend Hungary Waldstein Blue Pattern Porcelain Cachepots #7239
Made in Hungary 1948-1980s. Discontinued.
An exquisite, matching pair of first-quality large estate-size porcelain cachepots (planters/jardinieres) Shape Code: 7239 / WB 3, crafted by the world-renowned Herend Porcelain Manufactory in Hungary.
This pair features the historic Waldstein Blue (WB) pattern, highly celebrated for its classical East Asian influence, featuring central hand-painted blue floral sprays, smaller scattered floral sprigs, and a meticulously textured basketweave/wicker relief exterior.
Each vessel is elegantly finished with meticulously wrapped double-twisted twig handles and a scalloped rim highlighted in brilliant 24-karat gold gilt.
The underside of both vessels features matching, crisp stamps containing:
1. The official blue "Herend Hungary Hand painted" factory crest with crossed paintbrushes.
2. The blue handwritten model numbers: 7239 / WB 3 confirming shape, pattern, and size accuracy.
Excellent vintage mint condition. Free of any chips, cracks, hairlines, structural damage, or professional restorations. The hand-painted blue enamel remains vibrant and flawless. The 24k gold gilt along the delicate scalloped rims and woven handles shows minimal to no visible wear. Interior surfaces are clean, showing no signs of water staining or soil residue. Because each piece is entirely hand-painted by an individual master artisan, subtle variations in brushwork offer a charming testament to their bespoke, luxury production.
