The … Read more Striking vintage Frederick Cooper Chicago table lamp featuring a substantial ceramic ginger jar body in an elegant Chinoiserie-inspired design. The warm ivory ground has an intentional allover crackle glaze and is beautifully decorated with scrolling floral and lotus motifs in soft pink, turquoise blue and deep blue, accented with gilt detailing.

The ceramic body is mounted with warm brass-tone fittings and rests on a dark wood Asian-style pedestal base. The lamp retains its Frederick Cooper Chicago-marked socket and Frederick Cooper-marked hardware.

An especially wonderful detail is the decorative Asian-inspired metal finial featuring the traditional Chinese Double Happiness character within a geometric fretwork border. The ornamental finial beautifully complements the Chinoiserie decoration of the ceramic body and gives the lamp a wonderfully finished appearance.

Included is the substantial vintage Imperial Shades bell-form shade shown. The high-quality shade is fully lined and constructed with tailored vertical panels and self-trim. The shade is marked “Imperial Shades” on its metal fitting and is beautifully proportioned to the large ginger jar body.

A sophisticated example of Frederick Cooper's Asian-inspired decorative lighting, this statement lamp works beautifully in Chinoiserie, Hollywood Regency, Grandmillennial and traditional interiors. Its soft pink, blue, ivory, gilt brass and dark wood palette makes it especially versatile for a layered traditional room.

Dimensions: Approximately 29" H overall x 18.5" W at shade. Ceramic ginger jar body approximately 11" W. Base approximately 6.875" diameter.

Condition: Very good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear and patina to the brass-tone metal components. Ceramic body presents beautifully. The fine allover crackle/crazing is characteristic of the decorative glaze and is not considered damage. Vintage Imperial shade shows minor age-appropriate wear consistent with use.
