A breathtaking study in monumental scale and kinetic rhythm, this mid-century High Atlas rug commands attention through its towering proportions and fiery color palette. The entire canvas is drenched in a brilliant, saturated scarlet-red wool ground—a high-energy color historically prized among Amazigh weavers for its warmth and presence. What truly sets this piece apart is the sheer volume of its central field, which stretches vertically to house a double-column lattice of continuous, stacked diamond lozenges that cascade down the entire length of the textile.

Unlike smaller tribal accent pieces, the geometric framework here is drawn with remarkable density and precision. Thick, hand-spun yarns in cream-ivory, charcoal-gray, and toasted ochre form the primary diamond boundaries, creating a flickering, multi-tonal linework that seems to pulse against the crimson backdrop. Secondary cross-hatching and tiny, pick-stitched lozenge amulets are embedded within each diamond core, offering layers of intimate detail when viewed up close.
