Exceptional matched pair of 1960s Danish Modern rosewood chests by Svend Langkilde for Langkilde Møbler, Denmark. Each chest retains its original maker’s stamp reading “LANGKILDE — DANISH DESIGN — MADE IN DENMARK.”

The extraordinary rosewood is the star of this pair, with rich, highly figured grain flowing across the tops, drawer fronts and sides. Each chest features four spacious drawers with sculptural integrated pulls and a distinctive architectural base characteristic of sophisticated Danish Modern design.

Remarkably well preserved and appearing to retain their original finish, these chests are in exceptional vintage condition with very little wear for their age. The rosewood remains rich and vibrant, allowing the beautiful natural figuring to remain the focal point. They have not been refinished during our ownership and show no significant flaws or condition issues noted. Please review all photographs for additional condition details.

The pair was acquired from the Gaylord Estate in Paradise Valley, Arizona, where they were part of an extensive collection of mid-century furnishings. Their exceptional preservation, matched configuration and original maker’s marks make them an especially desirable pair.
