An exceptional 1980s Postmodern studio ceramic lidded vessel executed in the traditional Raku method. This striking, wheel-thrown piece beautifully showcases the dramatic, smoky carbon-trapping and rich crackle glaze detailing unique to the fast-firing Raku process, revealing an iridescent, multi-tonal turquoise and seafoam coloration.
Architectural yet organic, the vessel features a clean, bulbous silhouette contrasted by a prominent, hand-sculpted finial lid. Signed by the artisan on the underside, this one-of-a-kind sculptural object acts as a powerful artistic focal point, perfect for grounding a mantel, accenting a cocktail table, or styling into a curated built-in bookshelf display.
STYLING
An ideal textural asset for Postmodern, Wabi-Sabi, Organic Modernist, Southwestern Minimalist, and Japandi interior aesthetics.
