The rectangular ceramic tile features an abstract forest or cactus-like composition rendered in raised relief, finished in a beautifully mottled glaze of olive green, rust, ochre and deep brown.

The highly dimensional geometric design has a distinctly Brutalist and modernist character, with repeated linear forms creating an almost architectural landscape. Signed in relief at the lower right with an unidentified artist’s monogram.

Presented in a substantial vintage gold-leaf frame with a contrasting black inset, giving the relatively intimate ceramic work a dramatic sculptural presence. Excellent as a standalone piece or incorporated into a collection of Mid-Century Modern ceramics and dimensional wall art.
