Completely handcrafted, hand-signed, and dated "75" on the underside, this piece was proudly made in Nacogdoches—widely recognized as the "Oldest Town in Texas". It represents an incredibly rare find, created during the very first year Sitton began his acclaimed woodcarving hobby, which later evolved into his highly sought-after legacy of "Sitton Ducks." This piece masterfully renders a male Northern Pintail Drake, sculpted to an impressive, life-size 20-inch scale. The decoy features a beautifully cocked chocolate-brown head fitted with glass eyes, detailed incised feather patterns covering the back, and a vibrant hand-painted green-and-bronze speculum wing patch.Because of its significant length, historical ties, and artistic presence, this 1975 piece acts as a major statement sculpture.
