Striking early 20th-century reverse-painted glass advertising sign promoting pocket watches by the Waltham Watch Company of Waltham, Massachusetts. The composition features Waltham’s iconic eagle soaring above a large pocket watch, flanked by bold gilt lettering reading “Waltham Watches” and the slogan “Go All Over the World.”
Reverse-painted graphics are enhanced with gold and silver foil backing, creating depth, brilliance, and a reflective appearance designed to attract attention in a jeweler’s storefront or watchmaker’s shop. The sign remains housed in its original quarter-sawn oak frame with warm grain and period construction.
Founded in 1850, Waltham became internationally recognized for American-made precision timepieces exported throughout the world.
