Charming vintage Americana folk-art wall plaque featuring a woman in a blue patterned dress and white bonnet seated in a rocking chair with a fluffy orange cat resting across her lap.
The detailed interior scene includes a pedestal table with a handled pewter-style vessel filled with yellow flowers. Through the window is an idyllic American country landscape with a traditional farmhouse, stone wall, flowering trees and a small American flag.
The wonderfully restrained palette of colonial blue, cream, warm orange, muted green and brown gives the piece the character of an early American folk portrait.
The image is mounted directly to a shaped wood plaque with softly rounded corners and darkened, aged edges. A black metal chain allows the piece to hang directly on the wall.
