Striking mid-century pendant light by German-Swiss manufacturer Temde Leuchten, dating to the 1960s. The large conical shade is wrapped in natural sisal cord and accented with beautifully curved solid teak elements.
The pendant features Temde’s retractable suspension mechanism, allowing the height/drop to be adjusted (retractable cord may need to be replaced). When illuminated, the woven sisal shade casts a beautiful, warm, filtered light.
A sculptural and substantial example of Temde’s lighting designs, combining natural materials with the clean, organic lines characteristic of mid-century Scandinavian and European modernism.

Very good, unrestored vintage condition. The teak and sisal are exceptionally well preserved, with age-appropriate wear consistent with a vintage piece. The retractable mechanism functions, but the cord shows significant wear and would benefit from replacement. The lamp is currently functional and the wiring appears to be original. The electrical components and wiring have not been professionally inspected or evaluated for safety. As with all vintage lighting, the lamp should be inspected and, if necessary, serviced or rewired by a qualified licensed electrician prior to installation or use. Buyer assumes responsibility for ensuring safe installation and use. Please review all photographs carefully as they form part of the condition description.
