The carving is pierced (harder to do that a surface carving) and behind the carved doors is a mirror. Better than remaining open or a glass front so that the contents inside remain private and clean looking. The top and back are unpainted. Inside is a single shelf and the height measurement above and below are 12.5" and 15.5". Great versatility for use as storage or a serving piece.
