Up for auction is a matching set of six (6) vintage solid wood banker's (captain's) chairs manufactured by The B. L. Marble Chair Company of Bedford, Ohio. Known for producing heavy-duty, high-caliber commercial seating for government buildings, banks, and universities throughout the early to mid-20th century, B. L. Marble crafted these chairs using dense hardwood (birch/maple) finished in the factory's classic "Imitation Mahogany (No. 21)" stain.

Purchased at a South Carolina State Surplus Property auction in 2005. One chair retains an original South Carolina Public Service Commission inventory control tag underneath, adding documented institutional provenance. The set has been cared for and used as dining room seating for nearly two decades.
