Circa 1873 Gilded Vine-Detail Wood Frame With Vintage 1940s Grandma Moses Print
A charming authorized vintage circa-1940s reproduction of Grandma Moses’ winter scene “So Long,” presented in a substantially earlier circa-1873 wood frame.
The antique frame features decorative raised vine detailing accented with gilding, a warm aged finish, and a naturally developed patina. The back is stamped “No. 1012” followed by “Patented November 11, ’73,” referring to an 1873 patent date. Its early construction includes a solid-wood backing, aged hanging wire, and numerous square-head nails consistent with late-19th-century construction.
The colorful Americana image depicts a horse-drawn sled traveling through a snowy rural landscape. Beneath the sled is a printed copyright notice for Galerie St. Etienne, the influential New York gallery that presented Grandma Moses’ first solo exhibition in 1940 and represented the artist throughout the remainder of her life.
This is an authorized vintage reproduction and not an original Grandma Moses painting or hand-signed limited-edition print.

Fine when hanging and ready to hang however one antique square nail head nail is missing so it's a little bit loose. The frame is marked “No. 1012” and “Patented November 11, ’73” on the back and is approximately 150 years old. It displays expected age-related wear, small scratches, finish variations, and naturally aged gilding. The back retains its antique square-head nails and old hanging wire. One nail is missing, causing the wooden backing to be somewhat loose. The vintage print shows age appropriate to its circa-1940s production. Not examined outside the frame. Please review all photographs closely. less
