Crafted from wood with a warm, rich grain reminiscent of Rosewood (Huali), this piece features a unique square architectural design with turned columns and carved openwork railings, giving it the appearance of a miniature pavilion.

Each of the four sides displays panels depicting the "Four Gentlemen" (梅兰竹菊) – plum blossom, orchid, bamboo, and chrysanthemum – accompanied by traditional Chinese calligraphy. These motifs are highly revered in Chinese culture as symbols of noble character and scholarly virtue. The box rests on a carved, stepped base, completing its classic silhouette.

This brush pot is not only a functional desk organizer for pens and brushes but also a beautiful decorative object that adds a touch of Chinoiserie, Traditional, or Asian-inspired elegance to any home or office. See less
