Striking matching pair of vintage neoclassical sculptural table lamps attributed to Michael Taylor, featuring substantial travertine stone construction, architectural cast-iron frames, and warm brass detailing.
Each lamp features a large spherical travertine element encircled by a riveted cast-iron band, supported within a tapered architectural frame and accented by an elongated brass spear finial. Stepped travertine bases complete the dramatic, highly sculptural design.
The lamps have a wonderful aged finish and patina consistent with vintage pieces. The combination of natural stone, aged metal and brass gives them a sophisticated presence characteristic of late-20th-century neoclassical and postmodern design.
Offered as a matching pair and fitted with new neutral linen-look empire shades chosen to complement the original design. Shades are included.

Condition:
Very good vintage condition with age-appropriate patina and surface wear. Natural variations, coloration and texture are present in the stone. Please review detailed photographs for condition. Both lamps should be tested before listing, and then we can state that they are in working condition.
No maker's label has been located, therefore the lamps are being offered as attributed to Michael Taylor rather than definitively documented as Michael Taylor.
A substantial and unusual pair, particularly striking on a console, credenza or as oversized bedside lamps. Sold only as a pair.
