This piece is a stellar example of utilitarian American folk art, featuring a heavily textured black cork body paired with a hand-carved wood head.The flat wooden bottom board retains its original, flush-mounted lead strip ballast weight held by authentic vintage flathead screws. Most notably, the underside features a deeply carved, highly graphic stylized "K" owner’s rig mark next to its original inset anchor loop groove—proving its rich heritage as a true working artifact from the Atlantic Flyway.The decoy boasts an incredible, rugged "crusty" original painted patina with wonderful weathered texturing.
