A striking Art Deco–style bronze sculpture of a winged nude female figure, conceived as an allegorical angel or personification of twilight, serenity, or aspiration. With her elongated silhouette, softly modeled figure, and graceful wings, the sculpture balances classical symbolism with the streamlined elegance associated with Art Deco design.
The female figure is portrayed in a quiet, contemplative pose, her head gently lowered and her arms folded close to the body. The wings create a dramatic vertical silhouette and lend the work an ethereal presence. Finished in a rich dark bronze patina and mounted on a substantial green marble base, the sculpture makes a refined statement on a console, mantel, library shelf, desk, or pedestal.
The base is signed “Pierre Collinet” , and the sculpture is offered with its green marble base. Pierre Collinet is associated with 20th-century French figurative bronzes, particularly refined portrayals of the female form in a classical idiom. Comparable signed winged-female bronzes attributed to Pierre Collinet have appeared in the marketplace, including a 25-inch-high bronze angel and another example described as a winged female representing the coming of nightfall.
