Presenting a magnificent and exceptionally heavy vintage Chinese solid wood pillow, crafted from dense Small-Leaf Rosewood (Zitan). This piece is carved from a single block of premium hardwood, weighing a substantial 2.6 kilograms (5.7 lbs).

The pillow features a classic, slightly concave rectangular form designed to support the head or neck. The surface is highly polished, displaying a deep, rich black-brown patina and the characteristic fine "ox-hair" grain (牛毛纹) of aged rosewood. In traditional Chinese culture, such solid wood pillows were used for cooling during summer and are also commonly used in Traditional Chinese Medicine as a pulse cushion (脉枕) for taking a patient's pulse.

Condition: Excellent condition. The solid wood is sturdy and stable with a beautiful, naturally aged patina and clear grain. Minor surface wear and slight scratches are consistent with age and use. No structural cracks or repairs. Please refer to all photos for exact condition.
