Wonderful and very unusual antique Kleistone Rubber Specialties vulcanized molded rubber Scottish Terrier dog, dating to approximately the early 20th century.
This substantial figure is made from extremely dense, heavy molded rubber and retains a fantastic untouched aged surface with extensive overall crackling, discoloration and patina. The aged finish gives the dog tremendous character and is consistent with other documented Kleistone examples.
The dog retains its old leather collar fitted with metal jingle bells. One bell is dented/smushed and one bell appears to be missing. The leather shows expected age and wear.
Original Kleistone label remains on the underside and reads:

Approximately 11” high × 14” long × 5” deep.
Estate fresh condition with extensive age-related crackling/crazing to the rubber surface, discoloration, rubbing and general wear throughout. One collar bell is dented and one is missing. Please review all photographs carefully as they are an important part of the condition description.
A particularly scarce piece of early American rubber manufacturing and a terrific decorative dog, doorstop, advertising/industrial collectible or piece of early 20th-century Americana.
