A French Louis XVI–style oval guéridon in carved giltwood with an inset onyx-marble top. Late 19th century.
The oval stone top is creamy and slightly translucent with natural rust and taupe veining, set into a beaded giltwood surround. The apron is richly carved with scrolling acanthus. Four fluted, tapering legs with carved collars are joined by a curved X-stretcher, also beaded.
Suitable as an entry table, lamp table, or beside a chair. The worn gilding and stone patina are consistent with age and photograph well in a traditional or collected interior.
Condition: Good antique condition. Gilding losses and age cracks to the carved gesso, especially on the high points of the carving. Stone top shows staining, small pits, and discoloration. Structurally sound. Please review all photos; they are part of the description.
