The satyr is perhaps the symbol of ancient Pompeii—a bronze statue that gave its name to the house in Insula 12 and once adorned its impluvium (the basin at the center of the courtyard). With this new sculpture of ours, a classic opens up to the contemporary and becomes a fragment, with cuts that connect the interior with the exterior of the statue, which is further enhanced by a series of details that enrich its value.
