Titanium travertine shares the layered, sedimentary character of its Roman cousin in a cooler register, its banding running from silver through to charcoal rather than warm beige. It reads as grey and contemporary, a travertine at home in monochrome and pared-back rooms. The oak answers in kind: solid European oak smoked to a near-black brown, its grain still legible beneath the finish, so the travertine and oak read as two tones of a single warmth. Each top is cut from the block it came from, so no two of these Titanium travertine and oak coffee tables share the same figure.

The oak does the work of holding the stone up. Two solid oak boards interlock at right angles into a cross-leg base, one passing cleanly through the other, the joinery left in full view as the piece's single gesture of craft. Stone meets wood with nothing worked in between them.
