Attributed to the iconic Mannelli Brothers workshop, this majestic pyramidal sculpture is a celebration of pure geometry and a timeless culture of materials. Handcrafted in Italy in the 1970s from a solid block of porous beige travertine, the work pays homage to one of humanity's most ancient and perfect architectural forms, dating back to the great spiritual monuments of ancient Egypt, while remaining intensely contemporary. Far from being a common modern reproduction, this specific object boasts a splendid history: the lower part retains the original vintage metal label from the "Antichità e Curiosità" gallery, a historic art and curio boutique on the outskirts of Milan. Selected decades ago for its exceptional aesthetic value, this sculpture has traveled through time to bring its unique soul to modern interiors. Placed in a room, the travertine, with its natural and tactile texture, beautifully captures the sunlight, casting soft shadows that enhance its bold lines. It is a visually striking element: a timeless monolith that lends structural character, brightness, and a sense of historical solidity to any bookcase, desk, or tastefully furnished space.
condition:
Beautiful vintage condition with a superb natural patina. True to the organic, porous nature of travertine marble, it features a microscopic, virtually invisible 3mm surface touch along one upper ridge, which completely blends into the stone's native texture, preserving its proud geometric silhouette.
