A newly restored set of six iconic "Juliane" dining chairs in solid teak and Edelman leather, designed by Johannes Andersen in the early 1960s.
Juliane's backrest splits from a central column into a pair of sweeping curves, evoking the sculptural geometry of a nave arcade. The seat floats elegantly above the frame, whose gently curved components leave not a sharp edge in sight. Below, tapered legs descend without stretcher bars, preserving the chair’s light and minimalist profile.
The frames are newly refinished and all joints are solid. The seats have been fully reupholstered in a textured alabaster leather from Edelman's Modernaya collection, with new high density foam to ensure a comfortable sit.
This particular set was made by D Scan, which obtained the license to manufacture a number of Johannes Andersen designs after Uldum Mobelfabrik ceased production.
