Vintage Industrial Parts Cabinet With Handmade Wooden Cheese Box Drawers
Wonderful one-of-a-kind vintage industrial storage cabinet featuring dozens of handmade drawers constructed from repurposed wooden cheese boxes.
The utilitarian metal cabinet is fitted with individually made wood drawers, many retaining the original cheese-box advertising, typography, brand names and graphics. The varying markings give every drawer its own character and provide a terrific glimpse into the cabinet’s working history.
Simple round wooden pulls were added to the drawer fronts, creating a highly functional piece of folk-industrial furniture. The combination of aged metal, repurposed advertising wood and handmade construction gives the cabinet an authentic character that could not easily be reproduced today.
Originally created for organizing small parts and hardware, it would make an exceptional storage cabinet for an artist’s studio, workshop, jewelry collection, collectibles, hardware, craft supplies or retail display.
