The original manufacturer's label remains inside the lid, along with the maker's stamped mark and National Association of Cedar Chest Manufacturers approval mark.
This substantial solid wood chest features an especially attractive carved and molded front with a large decorative center panel, arched side panels, turned legs and carved trim. The interior is lined with aromatic red cedar and provides generous storage for blankets, linens, quilts, seasonal clothing and other household items.

The exterior has been updated using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in black and lightly distressed to highlight the chest's original carving, molding and architectural details. The combination of the dramatic black finish and warm natural cedar interior makes this a beautiful functional statement piece.

Perfect at the foot of a bed, in an entryway or hallway, or as a decorative blanket and linen chest in a traditional, English country, farmhouse, cottage or eclectic interior.

Condition
Good antique condition with age-appropriate wear. The exterior has been refinished with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and intentionally lightly distressed to complement the original carved details. The cedar-lined interior retains its original West Branch manufacturer label and markings and shows normal scratches, marks, discoloration and wear from age and use.

Important: The back portion of the veneer on the top is missing. This should be clearly disclosed and photographed for both eBay and Etsy. Please review photographs closely as they are part of the condition description. The chest retains the character and imperfections expected of an antique item. See less
