Authentic metal advertising sign for abts orana, belgium, dated 1953.
dimensions: height 36 cm, width 25 cm, depth 0.1 cm.
the sign shows a cheerful fifties illustration of a smiling woman holding a glass of orana, next to a small bottle of lemonade and fresh oranges. The bright colours, red typography and charming graphic style give the piece a strong vintage character.
the lower left corner carries the original mark “taxe payée anvers 512-537-1953”, which allows the sign to be dated to the early 1950s. The lower right corner reads “etabl. J. Schuybroek s.a. Hoboken-anvers”, the producer of the advertising sign.
the sign is very well preserved, with light surface age marks, small stains, subtle craquelure and normal signs of use consistent with its age. These details add to the authentic patina of the object. A simple hanging system is provided at the top.
