A striking and exceptionally well-proportioned pair of table lamps, masterfully converted from large antique Japanese Imari porcelain vases.
Featuring a generous and substantive presence, each vase boasts a commanding 9-inch diameter at its widest point.
Decorated in the timeless and classic Imari palette, these lamps display rich hand-painted underglaze cobalt blue, vibrant iron-red enamel, and delicate polychrome gilt accents depicting traditional floral reserves, scrollwork, and geometric panels.
Mounted on elegant, custom-fitted ebonized round wooden bases with professional brass fittings, and brown felt, this pair brings sophisticated historical character and warm ambient lighting to both classic and contemporary interiors.
Finials include a unique, complementary pair of vintage, hand-carved figural finials mounted on tiered brass fittings. One finial depicts a beautifully detailed caparisoned elephant with its trunk lowered; the other depicts a seated traditional Japanese figure at a low scholar's table.
Excellent used vintage condition. The porcelain bodies are free of structural cracks, major chips, or repairs. Minor, expected age-related wear to the hand-painted gold highlights and red enamel glaze, consistent with age and authenticity. Structural wood bases are sturdy and secure. The brass fittings show a gentle, natural patina. We do not guarantee the working conditions or safety of electrified items.
