Authentic metal advertising sign for abts monopole, belgium, dated 1953.
the sign shows a charming 1950s illustration of a smiling woman holding a glass of abts bronnen, next to a bottle of mineral water marked “sources lithinées”. The soft colours, elegant illustration style and gold-toned band with black lettering give the piece a beautiful vintage character.
dimensions: height 34 cm, width 25 cm, depth 0.1 cm.
in the lower left corner, the original mark reads “taxe payée anvers 512-537-1953”, allowing the sign to be dated to the early 1950s. In the lower right corner, it is marked “etabl. J. Schuybroek s.a. Hoboken-anvers”, the producer of the advertising sign.
the sign is well preserved, with light age-related wear, subtle craquelure, small marks and a few superficial scratches, including a fine scratch near the face. These traces are consistent with its age and add to the authentic patina of the piece. A simple hanging system is provided at the top.
a highly decorative and original advertising object, perfect for adding a cheerful 1950s atmosphere to a kitchen, bar, shop interior, café setting or vintage collection.
