A beautifully proportioned Mid-Century wall light dating from the 1960s and believed to have been produced in former Czechoslovakia.
The light features a sculpted wooden wall plate with a long projecting arm and a tapered wooden shade holder. These architectural elements are balanced by an organically moulded cream opaline glass shade, which gently diffuses the light and gives the composition its distinctive sculptural character.
The design reflects the playful forms of post-war Central European design together with a clear Scandinavian influence, particularly in its use of warm natural wood, opaline glass and restrained construction.
The projecting arm can be adjusted from side to side, allowing the position of the light to be changed. An on/off switch is located on the electrical cable beneath the fitting.
The lamp remains in excellent original vintage condition, with only minimal wear consistent with its age. All components are original, functional and well preserved.
