Wonderful large-scale vintage papier-mâché seal sculpture, believed to be Italian and dating to approximately the 1950s.
With its expressive face, wonderfully aged painted surface, and impressive scale, this piece has the character of a vintage circus, theatrical, or display prop. The naturally distressed finish, areas of wear, and patina developed over decades give it tremendous sculptural presence.
