Vintage Gien France Les Gâteaux Dessert Plates, Set of 5
Charming set of five vintage Gien France “Les Gâteaux” dessert plates, each measuring approximately 8.25 inches in diameter.
Made in France, the plates feature a wonderfully nostalgic French country harvest motif with wheat and an assortment of fruits—including pears, grapes, strawberries and orchard fruit—rendered in softly muted yellow, green, berry and plum tones. The bold “Les Gâteaux” lettering gives the pattern an especially distinctive French bistro and pâtisserie character.
The warm ivory ground and beautifully aged crackle glaze add wonderful vintage character. At 8.25 inches, these are an ideal size for dessert, cake, pastries, salad or a light luncheon.
