Measures 10 1/2" x 4 … Read more David Seccombe (American 1930 - 2022) modernist abstract paint decorated wood sculpture executed circa 1960. Measures 10 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 7 1/2" tall. May be displayed vertically or horizontally.

Seccombe lived in Greenwich Village where he had a loft with an attic studio. His sculptures were put together and lowered out a window to the street. In the 1960's he showed at the Brata Gallery, a co-op on 3rd Avenue. Later his work was exhibited in Bridgehampton, L.I., Battery Park, Penn’s Landing Philadelphia, the Detroit Institute of Art, Socrates Sculpture Park, O.K. Harris Gallery and The American Academy of Arts & Letters. He is a recipient of support from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, New York Foundation for the Arts, the Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation and a major grant from The National Endowment for the Arts.
