A beautiful painting equally at home on a gallery wall in a lady's boudoir. It is a smaller painting-- but extremely effective in defining a space.
Each bloom is meticulously carved out by the artist's paint brush using very dense pigment and thick, thick strokes of paint rising up above the canvas, much in the impressionistic manner. The blooms are grounded and surrounded by the contrasting deep greens and grays of the background.
Though impressionistic in execution, the painting is indeed quite representational--very realistic in its way. The artist has taken great care to render each petal with equal attention. And in truth--with great reverence to nature's incomparable artistry.
(I have to say, "without bias" that this work is very, very, pleasing to the eye when seen in person. These photographs barely do justice to George's paint brush.)
This painting measures 14" x 18" and is framed with a heavy 3" black, gold-rimmed frame.
