The warm presence of teak complements the essential design of this 1960s Swedish chest of drawers, whose character emerges primarily in the rhythm of the front. The contoured oval handles, slightly recessed into the wood, are repeated on the four large drawers, while the locks aligned along the central axis introduce a second, more subtle and graphic sequence. The rounded front corners soften the structure and allow the grain of the teak to animate the surfaces. The construction also retains the sobriety typical of Scandinavian design of the period: light wood interiors and four tapered legs that slim the volume without detracting from the front.
