Designed by Yngve Ekström for Westbergs Möbler in the 1950s, this coffee table combines a contoured teak top with an oak frame with a distinctive design. The straight legs are joined by arched crosspieces that stretch between different points of the base, creating a sequence of curves visible from all sides. The teak ends interrupt the oak with a darker detail and echo the top, lending coherence to the alternation of the two woods. Organic forms, precision craftsmanship, and attention to structure perfectly capture the style of Ekström, a central figure of postwar Swedish modernism.
